My Blog List

My Home page reports show a different total than my unpaid finalized earnings. Why?

The reports in your AdSense account are intended to give you close estimates of the current activity in your account. However, these earnings aren't finalized until the end of the month, when we make adjustments to your account for factors like delayed processing of our records, rounding discrepancies, and additional invalid click protections. Once earnings are verified, they are posted to your Payments page, which reflects your finalized earnings, including all revenue owed to you for valid activity. Revenue from invalid clicks or impressions is refunded back to the affected advertisers.
On the Home page of your account, we show the following information:
  • Estimated earnings: close estimates of your recent account activity from today, yesterday, this month so far, and last month
  • Finalized earnings: accurate earnings amounts that include all revenue you will be paid for validated clicks and impressions. These amounts match the information found on your Payments page.
    • If you haven’t yet reached the payment threshold, you will see a section for Unpaid finalized earnings displayed at the beginning of each month. This reflects your account’s activity during the previous month.
    • Once your earnings cross the payment threshold, you will see a Next payment line appear, showing the amount that you can expect in the next payment cycle for which you are eligible.
A discrepancy might be due to invalid clicks or impressions in your account. Significant levels of invalid activity are typically caused by issues with traffic sources or ad implementation. We recommend that you review the beginner’s guide and tips for preventing invalid activity for more information.
Also note, as outlined in the Terms and Conditions, we reserve the right to adjust a publisher’s earnings in the case that an advertiser who advertised on their site defaults on payment. Historically, however, the impact that this has had on publishers’ finalized earnings compared to his estimated earnings is low.
To maintain the integrity of our invalid activity detection system and prevent users from circumventing the system, we aren't able to provide details about how much was adjusted per day or per channel. Please know that we have these invalid click protections in place to keep our network of AdSense sites a safe and useful environment for advertisers, publishers, and users.
