Cheryl Cole: I won't let Cowell make me his new Sinitta

SEETHING Cheryl Cole cut all ties with Simon Cowell because she did not want to become "another Sinitta", her mum has revealed.

Cheryl - who was dumped from US X Factor, then snubbed the UK version of Cowell's show - fears he was grooming her as his puppet.
Sinitta, 42, was launched by Cowell in 1986 and they came lovers as he masterminded her career.
He released her track So Macho three times before it was a hit. The pair remain close friends and in a 2009 documentary she said: "I love him with all my heart."
Cheryl's mum Joan told a friend: "She was terrified Simon had become her puppet master and she was being turned into his new Sinitta - Simon's little pet.
"She is determined to carve out a career without him. He'll have to come up with something special for them to even speak again."
A Twitter user asked Sinitta last night if she could "give Cheryl advice on how to hang on to Simon's coat tails for 20 years". Sinitta replied: "Any time."
Cheryl, 27, has ignored all of Cowell's calls since he bowed to US TV executives and sacked her as an X Factor judge.
She also refused to watch his appearance in Britain's Got Talent on Monday, during which he was booed by the audience.
A source said: "Simon made Cheryl a UK superstar. She became the nation's sweetheart. But after he dumped her in the US, she decided to make a stand to show she's not a needy puppy."
As well as her mum, Cheryl has been confiding in her love-rat ex-husband Ashley Cole, 30. The Chelsea soccer star has told teammates he plans to win her back.
Cheryl's American manager Will.i.am has vowed to make her a US superstar by duetting with Usher, Rihanna and Katy Perry.

The Black Eyed Peas hitmaker, 36, said: "X Factor is not the only way for Cheryl to break the US. She is a recording artist first." The rapper also claimed that Cowell, 51, still "deeply cares" for Cheryl. He added: "Simon has people he needs to answer to and sometimes his hands are tied."
But one source said Cheryl was fleeing the country to escape her X Factor hell - and had ROWED with Will.i.am.
She was said to have been riled after Will.i.am, only appointed last month, advised her to snub X Factor pals. The source explained: "Cheryl has been friends for years with the X Factor team.

"Her new management advised her to stay out of it and let them do the talking. But it backfired as the American attitude to negotiations is about money, not remaining friends. Things are tense. Now she just needs a break." TV channels are already fighting to hire the Geordie beauty, including the BBC's The Voice.
Cowell was again booed on Britain's Got Talent last night and a bodyguard sat behind him.
