Mark Hu is chief executive officer of Laureate Education operations in China.

Prior to joining Laureate, Mr. Hu was executive vice president and president of Whirlpool Asia. His international business career also featured roles as senior vice president and general manager, Lighting East Asia and vice president and general manager, Lamps China/Hong Kong for Philips Lighting.

For 18 years, beginning in 1978, Mr. Hu held management positions with SC Johnson Wax, where he most recently was vice president and group general manager for China. He also led consumer products operations for the company in Shanghai, Taiwan, the U.S., and Australia.

Mr. Hu earned his bachelor of science degree at the Cornell School of Hotel Management and his M.B.A. from the Cornell Business School.
