Jorge Selume
President, Andean Region
Jorge Selume is chairman of Laureate Education’s Andean Region.
Prior to joining Laureate, Mr. Selume was a director at Corpbanca and Corpvida. Previously, he served as chief executive officer of Corpbanca and director of Banco Osorno. Mr. Selume formerly was president of Banco Osorno Leasing, president of Banco Osorno Fondos Mutuos, president of Banco Osorno Corredores de Bolsa, and president of Bolsa Electrónica.
From 1985 through 1988, Mr. Selume was budget director for the Republic of Chile. Between 1981 and 1985, he was dean of the School of Economics and Business at Universidad de Chile.
Mr. Selume earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from Universidad de Chile and his M.A. in economics from the University of Chicago.
