Eilif Serck-Hanssen
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Eilif Serck-Hanssen is executive vice president and chief financial officer of Laureate Education, Inc.
Mr. Serck-Hanssen previously was chief financial officer and president of international operations at XOJET, where he was responsible for finance, international operations, corporate development, procurement, legal and regulatory affairs, and information technology. Prior to joining XOJET, Mr. Serck-Hanssen served as executive vice president and chief financial officer at Eos Airlines, Inc., where he was part of the founding start-up team to build the first airline dedicated exclusively to premium long-haul business travel.
Mr. Serck-Hanssen has also served as senior vice president of finance and treasurer at US Airways, where he was responsible for all capital markets activities, corporate finance, treasury, aircraft finance, fleet planning, and hedging strategies. He was instrumental in executing the company's restructuring efforts. Prior to working with US Airways, he served in various finance positions at Northwest Airlines, as chief financial officer at PepsiCo Vietnam, and as assistant manager at PwC in London.
Mr. Serck-Hanssen earned his M.B.A. in finance at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, a B.A. in management science from the University of Kent at Canterbury (United Kingdom), and a B.S. in civil engineering from the University of Bergen (Norway). Mr. Serck-Hanssen is also a chartered accountant (ACA) and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).
