Key to answer readers' queries

If you have a piercing question for the country's Prime Minister, now is your chance to have it answered.
The Taranaki Daily News is hosting Prime Minister John Key at New Plymouth's TSB Showplace at 7pm on May 31 and is calling for questions from the floor.
Taranaki Daily News editor Roy Pilott says similar audiences organised by sister papers in Timaru and Christchurch have been outstanding successes.
"We are delighted to be given the opportunity to host the Prime Minister at a public meeting where our readers can raise issues which are important to them," Mr Pilott said.
"I think the media should be proactive in ensuring the community is both well informed and has an opportunity to enter into debates beyond the letters to the editor column."
He said reporters always get to ask the questions and this is a chance for the readers to do the same, either on the night or by emailing ahead of the meeting.
New Plymouth MP Jonathan Young said the evening would be a great opportunity for the public to connect with the Prime Minister.
"The time he came here in September 2009 he called Taranaki the `sweet spot' of the country and he does hold us in high regard.
"Mr Key is around the country all the time so there's not a lot of opportunity to see him often but when you do it's a big opportunity, especially getting to ask questions as well."
He said he expected there would be plenty of questions about where the country is going in terms of growth and employment.
"People will want to know about their future and the strength of the economy and there will possibly be questions around things like roading structure that are specific to Taranaki."
Mr Young said it would be interesting to hear a range of questions from a local, national and global perspective.
If you have any questions for Mr Key please let us know by emailing editor@dailynews.co.nz  and vikram861@gmail.com or post them to deputy editor Rob Mitchell, PO Box 444, New Plymouth.
