YouTube attracts millions of viewers every day and affords users the opportunity to upload videos for free on a platform that reaches large numbers. Small business management can create videos for this channel that will contribute to branding and marketing strategies.
There are several types of videos that small businesses can use to appeal to their customers and clients, including videos of executive presentations, training, self-help and company events that employees can watch, notes PC World.
However, Keir Thomas cautions business leaders on common mistakes found in YouTube videos in a contributed article for Entrepreneur magazine. If a company decides to upload a presentation or record an informational video, it should make sure to avoid clips that include lots of awkward pauses or fillers such as "um."
Additionally, video quality should be high - there shouldn't be unprofessional elements such as a shaky camera or unpolished lighting, sound and editing, Thomas advises.
If the video is an amateur production filmed, free software such as MovieMaker or iMovie allow for simple edits and some special effects, PC World notes.
