Rape of a minor girl by six people, including two Delhi University students, shocks Delhi.
NEW DELHI: A 15-year-old girl was confined by six youths, including two Delhi University students, a hotel management student and a BSF constable's son, in south Delhi's Andrews Ganj area and allegedly gangraped for two days.
Police said the victim, a minor who went missing from her house on April 22, was raped for two days in a room in Sangam Vihar before the accused let her go on the evening of April 23.
The traumatized victim did not return home and went to a friend's house where she stayed for four days before being found by the police on Wednesday. All the six accused, who are in their early twenties, were arrested by the police on Thursday.
Officers said the accused took turns to rape the girl and then dropped her outside her house. The victim, who lives in the servant quarters of a house with her family in Andrews Ganj, was called by Rajesh (21) on April 22 outside the house. "Since the girl knew him, she came out," said an officer. Rajesh had called five of his friends near a park there.
The accused — Rajesh, Anil (22), Sidharth alias Sudhir (20), Prateek alias Circuit (23), Tilak alias Raja Babu (23) and Pinku (22) — took her to a flat in Sangam Vihar where they took turns to rape her on April 22 and then on April 23, said the police. "After they dropped her home on the evening of April 23, she went to the house of a friend, Rahul, in Kotla Mubarakpur. Rahul, who has a small shop of shoes, told his parents she was a common friend's sister and would be staying there for sometime," said a police officer.
On April 25, the victim's father lodged a case under section 363 (abduction) in Defence Colony police station, complaining that his daughter was missing since April 22. "The cops then began looking for the girl. Finally, she was found in Rahul's house on Wednesday (April 27) and she told her family about the incident," said the officer. A medical examination of the girl was conducted.
All the accused were arrested on Thursday from their residences. They have been booked under section 376 (2) (G) relating to gangrape by the cops. Additional commissioner of police (South) H G S Dhaliwal said: "We have arrested all the accused after recovering the girl. She has not levelled any allegations against her friend, Rahul."
Rajesh, who allegedly planned the rape, is a firstyear student of Delhi University while Pinku is in the third year (correspondence). Anil is a student of hotel management and Sidharth, son of a Border Security Force (BSF) constable, is doing his BCA. Tilak is a driver while Prateek runs a provisional store, said the police.
