ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER says he still loves his wife MARIA SHRIVER "very much" following their split.
Speaking about their separation for the first time in LA last night, the former California governor heaped praise on the couple's supportive friends and their four children - Katherine, 21, Christina, 19, Patrick, 17, and Christopher, 13.He said: "We both love each other very much. And we're taking it one day at a time. The bottom line is we want to thank all the people for their great, great support.
"I just spoke to Maria an hour ago before I came here. We both were saying the same thing - we're extremely blessed to be surrounded by so many wonderful people, by so many wonderful friends.

"We're very fortunate to have four extraordinary children.
"I want to take a moment and thank our many friends and family for the tremendous amount of support and love that you have given us in the last 24 hours."
The Terminator star and Maria announced yesterday they were breaking up after 25 years of marriage.
They said in a joint statement: "After a great deal of thought, reflection, discussion and prayer, we came to this decision.
"This has been a time of great personal and professional transition for each of us."
