Fury as Cheryl Cole’s in Paula Abdul hot seat

CHERYL Cole last night faced the wrath of US X Factor fans after she replaced fellow judge Paula Abdul in the prime seat next to Simon Cowell.

On the first day of filming, Paula sat next to Simon - with Cheryl between her and fourth judge LA Reid.
But on the second day of auditions, the Girls Aloud star, 27, and pop veteran Paula, 48, swapped places.
Many US fans took to Twitter to blast Cheryl for coming between ex-American Idol judges Simon and Paula. One tweeted: "I resent the heck out of Cheryl 4 screwing up the reunion of the century! Why?"

Another said: "Paula is our sweet little angel! Why is Simon letting that big-haired girl take her seat? A TV insider said: "The American public were desperate to get Simon and Paula back together - their chemistry on Idol was TV gold. Some want them to get together as a couple. So to see Cheryl in between them put her in the firing line."
Meanwhile, blushing Cheryl found her first star on the show and told him: "You've definitely got the package."
She was blown away by the powerfully-built black singer in skin-tight jeans - who serenaded her with a sexy Usher track.
Her racy comments were met with wild laughter and wolf whistles from the crowd.
She added: "I mean, you've definitely got some vocal abilities."
