She's doing it!
Gabrielle Giffords, the inspirational congresswoman and survivor of a gunshot wound to the head, was seen boarding her planned flight to Florida earlier on Wednesday.
She is heading to Cape Canaveral to watch her husband, Mark Kelly, take off during his space shuttle launch this Friday, which President Barack Obama will also be attending.
In the footage above, Giffords is seen getting out of a wheel chair on the tarmac at Ellington Field in Houston, then slowly make her way up the steps to enter the airplane.
She has overcome overwhelming odds to walk up those steps, let alone even live, after the tragic near-fatal shooting, so we're obviously ecstatic for her!
Her husband said she was excited for the trip too, stating:

"It's something she's been looking forward to for a long time. She's been working really hard to make sure that her doctors would permit her to come. She's more than medically ready to be here, and she's excited about making this trip."Have a safe flight, gurl! Enjoy the launch and Florida sun!
