Our final Fashion Week glamour gang guest post comes from Catherine Kallon. As founder and editor of Red Carpet Fashion Awards, Catherine is well acquainted with celebrity style and also knows a thing or two about where the famous like to be seen (and not seen). Below she tells us about a few of her favourite hangouts in New York; places that are cool in their own right, but also have that added celeb spotting potential…
“Exclusive downtown nightclub The Box is great for celebrity spotting. The venue itself has amazing early 1900s architecture and an intimate feel with several hiding places where celebs can be anonymous. If you want to live large however, you can get a table overlooking the stage.
If you’re looking for something different, The Box definitely offers a worthwhile experience with a variety of burlesque, acrobatics and music (soul legend Patti LaBelle played on the night I went) performances at several points throughout the night.
189 Chrystie St (between Delancey St & Rivington St)
More than just a store add-on, it serves some of the best lunches I’ve had in recent memory. The food is excellent and the service is quick, attentive and never intrusive. The space is also great with large windows allowing a lot of light and it’s also quiet enough to have a conversation without having to shout across the table.
On the day of my recent visit, Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester was spotted having lunch with her stylist after they’d been shopping in the store.
660 Madison Avenue
The vibe here is chilled with a mellow and artsy crowd. It can be quite difficult to get in though, so be sure to make a reservation (especially at weekends) if you want to enter after 9PM.
When it comes to celebrity sightings it’s really a case of who hasn’t been there. On my last visit I spotted Christina Hendricks and Debra Messing.”

Fred’s At Barney’s
Barney’s department store isn’t just a great place to shop; it’s also a great place to eat. Their restaurant, Fred’s is located on the 9th floor and serves lunch, brunch and dinner.More than just a store add-on, it serves some of the best lunches I’ve had in recent memory. The Rose Bar
The Rose Bar at the Gramercy Park Hotel is always one of my favourite places to hang out in New York. The bar is filled with iconic artwork by Andy Warhol, Richard Prince and Keith Haring. It also has a fireplace, pool tables and rooftop seating (great for lounging), making it an ultra-hip venue for drinking and mingling.The vibe here is chilled with a mellow and artsy crowd.
