Build your vision if you don't have one yet. Vision provides you direction to where you should go and what you should do to be able to reach where you're going. It is like a guiding star that you should pursue and a mountain you must climb to achieve success. However, vision only provides the context of where you should go and what should be done, it's imperative that you should align your business strategies, and the way you handle your operations or your career plan with your vision to achieve success.
Financial Intelligence
You must know how money works.
Money matters are critical to your success. People fail because of not knowing how money works. They don't know how money should be managed. Remember money if not handled well leads to fiasco. Learn how money works and you will be surprised what money can do for you. Attain financial literacy and you will attain financial success.
Emotional Intelligence
This is the key attribute of an effective leader.
According to Daniel Goleman this consists of self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy and social skills. For how will you succeed if you don't know your self; don't know how to keep your temper; don't have the inner motivation to achieve; don't know how to empathize with others and most of all if you don't know how to socialize with people and influence them with a purpose. Learn to hone these things and you will see the big difference.
Enthusiasm
You must have enthusiasm to do the right things.
According to Peter Drucker, Efficiency is doing things right and Effectivity is doing the right things. Success is doing the right things right. However, you cannot attain success if you don't have enthusiasm, as Ralph Waldo Emerson once wrote “Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm”. So be enthusiastically effective always.
Will to Struggle
The power of will to struggle is immeasurable. Great feats were achieved with it. If you're willing to struggle, you're sure to become successful. The will to struggle is the manifestation of your determination and perseverance to achieve. Without it, success will elude you forever.
Love
Sow the seeds of love and you will reap plenty.
Love your neighbors as you love yourself. Without love hatred sets in, this is the time you begin to feel unhappy. Without happiness life is boring, and this leads to burn out, not just at work but in everything. Simply love your neighbors and you're sure, every transactions and decisions that you make will result to positive outcomes.
Loving your customers and suppliers is also loving your company. Loving your co-employees is also loving your work. If it's love you give then its love you will take in return. With so many people loving you or your company you're sure to achieve success.
Keeping God
Time and time again, you hear people say that life is a journey. Yes, indeed life is a journey. It is a journey wherein you will hurdle a lot of obstacles, pass through a lot of difficult mazes and overcome numerous frustrations.
In the most trying times of your life, even if you have the will to struggle, the enthusiasm to do the right things, high degrees of emotional intelligence and financial intelligence but without God on your side you may still easily succumb to confusion which inhibits you to think clearly and makes you do wrong things to entirely regret for the rest of your life. Without God, you will just realize that you're traveling without destination.
